ARC Discovery 2009 - Assessors Reports and the Rejoinder open period – 1 July to 14 July

Assessors Reports and the Rejoinder open period - 1 July to 14 July

The Assessors Reports on Applications for the 2009 Discovery Project round have opened on GAMS and close 14 July. ARC Rejoinder Process Instructions are on the website:

The key dates are:
  • 1 July Assessor's Reports available on GAMS
  • 10 July UNSW internal close date for Rejoinders and 'Local Submit' on GAMS
  • 14 July Completion of the compliance checking of Rejoinders and submission by UNSW to the ARC.

UNSW Rejoinder Submission Process

The ARC requires the Rejoinder to be submitted by UNSW through the Grants Management Office (GMO) by 6 pm Monday 14 July, the start of World Youth Day activities, when many UNSW staff will be on leave. Consequently there will be limited access to UNSW staff including the GMO. Assistance on Monday 14 July with any queries on your Rejoinder will be limited. It would be appreciated if you could complete your Rejoinder and locally submit it on GAMS by no later than Thursday 10 July 12 noon.

GMO staff will:
  • monitor the Local Submit of Rejoinders on GAMS;
  • briefly check that your final Rejoinder does not have any editorial errors; and Local Submit it on GAMS.

GMO staff will be able to provide advice on rules and eligibility and check the compliance of your Rejoinder.

Research Strategy Office (RSO) staff will provide advice and support regarding the content of the rejoinder, including how to respond to specific issues raised by assessors.

How do I know that my rejoinder has been successfully submitted on GAMS?

Your GAMS screen for your DP application will show:

Rejoinder: Edit  View  ARC Submit

If your Rejoinder is less than 5000 characters, then your screen will display the following:

Rejoinder: Edit  View  Local Submit

To office submit, click on the local submit button.

If your GAMS screen shows only the following two options, then you have most likely exceeded the character limit and your rejoinder cannot be submitted:

Rejoinder: Edit  View

Please edit your rejoinder to reduce it to less than 5000 characters. Note: Microsoft Word will not count all spaces and code. The Microsoft Word count target is 4900 characters with spaces.
